Healing
QiGong
Therapy also known as Cosmic Healing Chi Kung, or Taoist
Colour Healing, is a non-contact form of healing derived
from pre-Taoist shamanic practices which underly Traditional
Chinese Medicine. One of the most important parts of
the Taoist practises is working with the energy moving
within the body. This is a fascinating and altogether
more controversial area of Chinese medical practise.
In this process, the practitioner guides his/her own
Qi, emitted through key acupuncture points in the body,
to enhance Qi flow into the patient. In most instances,
this is done without any physical contact. Qi Gong healing
practices are only now becoming better known in the
West, and to some individuals they represent an extremely
challenging conceptual shift. It is necessary to realise
that working on an energetic level can produce changes
on a physical level.
Reiki is a japanese
form of healing. The word Reiki (loosely defined) means
free passage of universal life force energy. Reiki originates
in Tibet. The symbol Rei means spirit, ghost and soul.
The symbol Ki means life force energy (as in akido).
In China, life force energy is called Chi, in India,
Prana. There are many names for life force energy; each
culture seems to have its own. This is a contact laying
on of hands and assists in balancing our physical
as well as our energy bodies.
